Ray Black, MA, RBT

Primary Therapist

As a Counselor and Registered Behavioral Technician, Ray began her career working with young people on the autism spectrum and has since expanded her expertise to include work with those struggling with trauma, depression, and anxiety, addiction, as well as recovery from compulsive behaviors. She holds a MA in Mindful-Based Transpersonal Clinical Counseling from Naropa University. She began her Psychology education at The University of Texas in Austin majoring in Psychology and Sociology.

Ray’s extensive experience includes roles as a Personal Coach and Group Facilitator, where she has empowered clients to embrace self-acceptance and find inspiration within both the positive and negative aspects of their lives. Her therapeutic approach is deeply influenced by Mindfulness, Transpersonal Psychology, Gestalt, EMDR, Existential Therapy, Neurophysiology, Mindful-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Art Therapy.

Outside of her professional life, Ray is a musician, singer-songwriter, and nature lover. She enjoys hosting events, connecting with friends, and continuing to expand her clinical toolkit, always seeking to integrate cutting-edge therapies into her work with our students. Ray brings a compassionate and warm yet analytical presence to her work at Red Mountain, and is dedicated to supporting each student’s unique path to wellness.
