Matt George
Program Manager

Matt is a proud alumnus of Red Mountain Sedona. After graduating from Red Mountain, Matt spent a year working as a wilderness therapy guide. Upon his return to Red Mountain as a staff member, Matt showed an ability to be clear and encouraging with students, supporting them to take action in their own lives.

Using his experience at Red Mountain and telling his story, Matt is an excellent, relatable role model and connects with them around their hobbies and passions, easily building trust and rapport. This made Matt a perfect fit to assist them in their case management.

As a case manager, Matt works closely with students to help them create lives that are both exciting and sustainable. Matt has seen firsthand the transformation that happens at Red Mountain, and works to aid in that process for each of the students he works with.

Being sober since first entering treatment and actively engaging in his own recovery, Matt brings his enthusiasm for Red Mountain’s philosophy to each interaction with his students. In addition to working at Red Mountain, Matt is also pursuing a degree in psychology at Northern Arizona University with the hopes of one day becoming a wilderness and outdoor-focused clinician.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys hiking and rock climbing in Flagstaff with his friends and fellow RMS alumni.
