Primary Therapist
Cindy Fogel brings over 30 years of clinical expertise & experience as a therapist at Red Mountain Sedona. She attended the master's program at Prescott College earning her MA in Counseling Psychology with a focus on holistic approaches to healing mind, body & spirit. She went on to work in social services & was a supervisor of a social service agency. Always being drawn to the healing of the natural world, Cindy moved into nature-based therapy doing powerful therapeutic work with a diverse population of adolescents, young adults & their families. After many fulfilling years as a therapist in Oregon, Cindy moved back to AZ to be closer to family & worked as a therapist in a therapeutic residential environment prior to joining the clinical team at RMS.
Cindy has spent many years developing advanced techniques in counseling psychology that are trauma-informed & holistic in their approach. She uses a multi-modal, client-centered, mindfulness approach to her therapeutic work that incorporates the Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM), Post Induction Therapy, CBT, DBT, experiential & Jungian Psychology. She is level II trained in EMDR, utilizes attachment-focused EMDR, TRE, Somatic Experiencing & other somatic, body-based therapies. She works effectively with attachment, developmental & relational trauma, grief & loss recovery, depression, anxiety, adoption, drug & alcohol abuse, process addictions, sexual assault, self-esteem, social skills, family problems & learning differences.
Cindy is a lover of nature and spends as much time as possible in the woods, deserts, mountains, rivers & oceans. She is blessed to have two amazing children, a precious grandson, an amazing partner & 3 fur babies. She enjoys gardening, live music, hiking, boating, tai chi, yoga, & practicing Reiki.
