Life Skills Training for Young Adults From South Portland, ME

Red Mountain Sedona - Young adult woman battling addiction and in need of therapy programRed Mountain Sedona is a Therapeutic Healing Aftercare Program offering essential Life Skills Training for struggling young adults from South Portland, ME area. Red Mountain Sedona (RMS) shows our young adults how to not only cook, clean, and take care of their physical health (through nutrition and exercise), but also how to apply for and interview for jobs, balance checkbooks, and optimize their behavior and etiquettes for a successful adult life.

We know from years of instruction and training that proper life skills are critical for lasting sobriety with our young adult students. We have observed many programs in the South Portland, ME area, who do not provide proper aftercare treatment for vulnerable young adults during this crucial stage. The RMS philosophy is, "A 'mindful,' healthy life is more harmonious and agreeable than a life of habitual behavior and internal strife." Because of this philosophy, our aim is to promote the development of significant life skills, that will conceivably come to play an ongoing and continual role in our students' futures.

Top Rated Aftercare Program for Young Adults

Victory is achieved as we "guide" our students through the "creation" of a more advantageous future. This method is based on the eventuality of our young adult students "seeing," and then "rejecting" the self-limiting beliefs and behaviors that have prevented them from reaching their potential. Most importantly, we assist our students, through our healing aftercare program, with the process of rebuilding and maintaining any damaged relationships with family, loved ones, and most importantly themselves.

The trained staff here at RMS not only assists with the healing from grief, loss, and trauma, but they also guide them in overcoming the toxic remnants of the past, caused by poor decision-making. Our organization of staff presents a personal growth experience, for struggling young adults, unlike anything offered in the South Portland, ME area. Simply put, we pick up where primary treatment leaves off!

RMS's team of therapists and counselors is comprised of two Ivy-League-educated physicians, two meditation instructors, a licensed psychologist, a licensed independent substance abuse counselor, a licensed professional counselor, a yoga instructor, a music teacher, and an equine professional.

To find out more, call our professional intake counselors at 855-998-5272. It is our goal to customize your treatment plan to fit your personal needs. As we do this, you will gain hope, insight, tools, and strength for your struggling young adult.

Located within the stunning and majestic views of Sedona Arizona, Red Mountain Sedona is known as one of the premiere personal growth programs in America. Our location was established literally steps from bike trails, coffee shops and restaurants, as well as the breathtaking Bell Rock Trail. Red Mountain Sedona's Aftercare Programs

Our students enjoy personal mentoring from our core staff, who personally have over 35 years of recovery experience dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, food addiction, alcohol and substance abuse, codependency, and process addictions. This mentoring and instruction is delivered through our specialized programs:

Meditation - 12-step literature encourages daily meditation and reflection, which has been proven to reduce stress, cravings, and positively affects brain chemistry (Zen and the Brain, by Dr. James H. Austin, a book written by a medical doctor studying the effects of meditation on the brain). Many recovery applications teach weekly meditation as a supplement to other programming, which we feel is inadequate. We believe daily meditation practice is needed in order to teach addicts how to track their cravings and reduce the risks of relapse.

Yoga - We teach Yoga for a variety of reasons, but primarily because it has long been seen as a key component of physical and mental well-being. Yoga promotes physical health, reduced stress, and a sense of inner peace.

T'ai Chi - Here at Red Mountain Sedona, we deliberately emphasize the “soft” martial arts such as Aikido, T’ai Chi, and Qigong. They are all nonviolent in nature and use positive energy to calm the nervous system and build confidence.

Equine Therapy - Our Equine Therapy program incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning. It is a collaborative effort between a trained equine therapist and the young adult client to address treatment goals. Equine therapy helps young adults become more aware of their emotions, and how their behavior affects others.

Red Mountain Sedona - Young adult male experiencing adventure therapyAdventure Therapy - We incorporate adventure therapy as another specialized field that utilizes outdoor adventure activities to promote interpersonal, social and psychological wellness and change. Adventure therapy encourages individuals to become mentally and physically engaged in adventure activities such as ropes courses, rock climbing, wilderness expeditions, and trust building activities.

Nutrition - At our program, we serve gourmet meals using many fresh and local ingredients. Many studies have shown that nutrition is a key part of supporting the “addict brain” and staying sober. We teach our students how to "eat right" for the rest of their lives. All meal plans are individually customized by our certified nutrition coach.
